In the sacred atmosphere of Ramadan, where faith and devotion take center stage, Alhosh Gallery presents Deen – Faith, an exhibition that explores the essence of Islamic spirituality, expression and ritual through the visual arts created by a select group of established artists.
The exhibition features a curated collection of works, both historical and contemporary, that reflect through a visual narrative the depth of Islamic faith, devotion and worship, capturing the essence of Ramadan, a month of prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage. The artworks comprise works of Arabic and Quranic calligraphy, photography, and a rarely seen group of Hajj certificates which embody the sanctity of Mecca, the Kaaba, and the act of Tawaf, emphasizing the spiritual unity of believers as they circumambulate the sacred site.
At the heart of Deen – Faith, the Kaaba and the Divine message of the Quran stand as a powerful symbol of devotion and connection with artists portraying their centrality in Islamic worship through unique artistic perspectives, offering profound visual interpretations of Islamic faith, spirituality, and the timeless traditions of worship.

Exhibition Introduction
In the sacred atmosphere of Ramadan, Alhosh Gallery presents “Deen: Art and Islam – A Journey of Faith”, an exhibition exploring Islamic spirituality, expression, and ritual through the visual arts. The exhibition comprises both historical and contemporary works created by a group of renowned artists,it also includes pieces from two prominent collectors in Qatar, Tariq Al Jaidah , the Artworks offering a visual narrative that captures the essence of Islamic faith during Ramadan—a time of prayer, and fasting.
Featured works in the gallery include works of Quranic calligraphy, photography, installations focusing on the expression of faith, and a fragment of the sacred Kiswa, as well as Hajj certificates that embody the sanctity of Mecca, the Kaaba, and the act of Tawaf. Central to “Deen: The Art of Faith” are the unique perspectives by artists on Islamic worship and what it means to be a Muslim. This exhibition invites visitors to embark on a reflective journey, immersing themselves in the profound meanings of Islamic faith through art.

The Artworks of the Artists
Qatari businessman and entrepreneur Tariq Al Jaidah has been an active supporter of the arts forover 25 years. An avid collector focusing primarily on modern and contemporary art from the Arab Region and Iran, Al Jaidah founded the country’s first private art space, Waqif Arts Center, in 2007. Waqif Arts Center organised a number of significant shows presenting local and regional artists and collaborated with other galleries such as the Dubai-based Third Line. In 2011, the center relocated to Katara, a Qatari heritage village, and was re-branded as the Katara Art Center (KAC). The KAC continues to maintain an active exhibitionary programme presenting local and regional artists. In addition to exhibitions, the center is well-known for fostering collaborations with other entities including the Sotheby’s. In 2019, Al Jaidah established Eiwan Al Gassar Gallery in partnership with Al Fardan Group. Inhabiting a generous gallery space of over 1000 sqm, Eiwan Al Gassar became known for its ambitious and conceptual exhibitions. Al Jaidah’s design initiative Studio 7 became into being in 2021. Established in collaboration with Qatar Museums, the design concept store focuses on empowering local and regional designers, bridging the gap between makers and local artisans. Wusum Gallery, founded together with Wadha Al-Aqeedi in 2023, is Al Jaidah’s latest venture. Presenting the works of early, mid-career, and established artists, the gallery is the first art space in Qatar to permanently represent local artists
Qatari businessman | Islamic art collector | Takaful and Retakaful specialist Mohammad Abdalla Alemadi is a distinguished Qatari businessman and an passionate collector of Islamic art, with a profound admiration for Islamic heritage spanning Over decades. Holding a degree in Economics from Portland State University in 2012, Mohammad embarked on his professional journey in the Insurance Industry at Qatar Central Bank. By 2017, he was appointed Head of Takaful Insurance, leading the development of Sharia-compliant insurance solutions in Qatar. His expertise and dedication to the field earned him the position of Head of Onsite Insurance Inspection in 2023, where he played a key role in regulating and enhancing the insurance sector in the country. Driven by a deeper interest in Retakaful (Islamic re-insurance), Mohammad pursued a master’s degree in Islamic finance from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, which he successfully completed in February 2025.Beyond his career in finance, Mohammad is also a specialized collector of Haramain Art, focusing on rare and historical pieces depicting Makkah and Madinah during the Ottoman era. His passion for preserving Islamic heritage began in 2014, and over the years, he has built an exceptional and unique collection that reflects the rich spiritual and architectural history of the Islamic world. Currently, a select couple of his pieces from his collection are on display at the Down in Deen Exhibition in Pearl, Qatar, offering art enthusiasts and historians a glimpse intothe rich history and artistry of the Islamic world. With his growing expertise in Islamic finance and his dedication to Islamic art, Mohammad Alemadi remains committed to bridging heritage and culture.
